Hello IPPA member,
Hope you are doing well!
Most likely, you might not know me, so here is my brief bio and motivation.
I am a PhD candidate at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (India). Before this role, I taught management students, developed a sustainable development goal vision document 2030 for an Indian state government by working with state-level bureaucrats, improved village-level public service delivery by working with field-level bureaucrats, collaborated with civil society organizations in their legal battles, and worked for a public
organization in the petroleum sector. With a multitude of experience and academic qualifications, I landed a PhD opportunity. Building on my experiences, I am researching the implementation of rights-based legislation in Indian districts to re-common the country's existing forest management landscape. My research interest is at the confluence of studying middle-level bureaucracy and its role in policy implementation.
I have recently become a member of IPPA. The association is widely respected because it brings together scholars from across geographies engaged in public policy research. I believe that as a member of the IPPA College, I might be able to work closely with other members, learn from their ideas related to the field, and contribute through my field experiences and research ideas located in the context of the Global South. I wish the IPPA to emerge as an accessible forum for exchanging scholarly ideas, particularly from under- researched areas and under-represented communities, so that the IPPA continues to shape the field to make impactful contributions to public organizations' practice and theory. With these thoughts, I request you consider my candidature.
Thank you!
