I am a full professor at the University of Santiago, Chile (USACH), where I conduct research, pedagogical innovation, and public engagement in the field of public policy. My work focuses on two key areas: analyzing public policies to understand the drivers of policy change—particularly in cultural and environmental policy within Latin America—and studying how public policy is taught, with a strong emphasis on developing capacities for public professionals to tackle today’s challenges. I have been involved in IPPA activities since its foundation and deeply value its role in fostering collective action and knowledge exchange in the field of public policy. If elected, I will work to strengthen IPPA’s efforts in promoting collaboration and co-production of knowledge among established and emerging scholars. Expanding IPPA’s reach and inclusivity will reinforce its impact on public policy research, education, and professional training. With experience in international academic networks, comparative policy analysis and teaching public policy, I seek to represent my region while contributing to a more integrated and diverse policy community. I look forward to the opportunity to serve and engage with colleagues worldwide.
