Summer School - Yaoundé Edition 2025

Eligibility Criteria

IPPA is pleased to announce that a limited number of grants will be available for PhD students or Post-doc researchers, who do not receive any financial support from their university. The grants will cover 200€ of the registration fee (including accommodation and meals) for the Summer School, down to 50€.

To be eligible, the candidate must:

• Be a PhD student or a post-doctoral researcher
• Does not receive any funding from their university to attend the winter school

Grant requests must be included in the applications for the Summer School.

To do so, please join with your application a short letter of motivation stating you do not benefit from any support from your University and explaining why you are applying for the grant for your Summer School application. 

Selection to attend the summer school and for the grants will be announced progressively. We, therefore, encourage you to apply as soon as possible. 

Additional Travel Grant

Applicants whose application is accepted for the Summer School will also have the possibility to apply for an additional travel grant (up to a maximum of 500€). This grant will consist of the reimbursement of their flight tickets on presentation of proof of payment. The two grants (registration fee discount and travel grant) can be combined. 

To be eligible for a travel grant, please include with your application:

• A short letter of motivation explaining why you are applying for a travel grant
• A summary of a research project (max. 3 pages)

The number of travel grants is limited, and applicants will be selected based on the quality of their research project.

The deadline to apply for both the fees and travel grants is January 24, 2025.
