The second Yaoundé Summer School took place from April 22-27, 2024! Co-organized with the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC), this edition was once again a great success, bringing together 28 PhD and young scholars. For this edition, participants had the choice between 4 different courses given by professors Abdoul Karim Saidou (University of Thomas Sankara - Burkina Faso), Mireille Manga (University of Yaoundé II), Michelle Morais de Sá e Silva (The University of Oklahoma), Kent Weaver (Georgetown University), and Philippe Zittoun (University of Lyon). The event was sponsored by the French Embassy in Cameroon.

Key highlights

Discover participant feeback from the last edition of the Yaoundé Summer School.

"IPPA's 2nd summer school in Yaoundé was an enriching experience. We learned a lot about the variants of public policy. Above all, the school enabled us to understand the dynamics of power in the implementation of public policy. This in fact reflects the interplay between the sub-disciplines of political science and, in this case, the junction between international relations and public policy. The summer school was a fun experience, with walks by the sea and swimming sessions".

"IPPA seasonal schools are a real opportunity for us doctoral students, it is an event that I plan to promote in my university".

"The summer school is an opportunity for young researchers to gain new insights into what it's like to work on public policy. Having taken part, I can tell you that I'm coming away satisfied. A tour of the question is tackled on the manufacture of public policies, the instruments and many others with peers of the discipline. So I'd like to thank the organizing committee for their efforts to popularize public policy in Africa.

"Ippa summer school Is the Best place to improved the knowlege and methodology on public policy".

"I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about international public policy with a cohort of scholars from different parts of the world. My course on the micro and macro theories of policy making, led by Kent Weaver, was well organized and very expansive. Thank you to the organizers of the summer school and the different students for making this an indelible experience".
