ANDREW JORDAN's course

Andrew Jordan - University of East Anglia

Prof Andy Jordan has over thirty years of practical experience in environmental and climate change research. He undertakes comparative empirical work particularly in governing processes that occur in the European Union, its Member States and countries outside of Europe.

Ranked amongst the world’s most highly cited researchers in his main research fields, namely environment policy, climate policy, environmental politics and the European Union. Often working together in large interdisciplinary teams, He has captured many fundings to advance public understanding. This has included a Philip Leverhulme prize and a prestigious Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (DeepDCarb, 2021-6). He edited some of the most highly ranked journals in my fields (e.g. Global Environmental Change and Environment and Planning). He is an active member of the editorial boards of three international academic journals - West European Politics, Policy Sciences and Environmental Politics. In 2022, I was delighted to be elected a Fellow of the British Academy in recognition of his personal contributions to national and international social science, one of only a handful on campus.

He has directly informed the work of many government departments, the Cabinet Office and several international bodies including the OECD and the European Commission and he currently serves on the UK Office for Environmental Protection’s College of Experts. In 2018 he was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
