IPPA's Early Career Network met as a prelude to the 6th International Conference on Public Policy that was held from June 27 to 29, 2023, at Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada. Led by Sarah Giest and Tullia Galanti, the Early Career community met to create connections before the start of the conference as well as brainstorm ideas of how to stay connected and exchange knowledge about research as well as opportunities in academia around the world. These ideas showed that many are eager to network professionally – both for theme-based links as well as career opportunities around the world. Other topics that arose were balancing remote and in-person work and conferences as well as creating a healthy work environment more generally.
Based on this meeting, there is now a Google group (IPPA ECN, ippa-ecn@googlegroups.com) to which IPPA members can request access.
