ISCSP - Institute of Social and Political Sciences is the largest and oldest School of Social and Political Sciences of Universidade de Lisboa - University of Lisbon. Over its 115 years of existence ISCSP has promoted human, cultural, scientific and technical training in the social and political sciences through a diverse set of degrees, now encompassing I, II and III cycles as well as non-degree-awarding courses (Postgraduate and specialization courses). Its educational and research matrix is multidisciplinary and transversal to the scientific areas of Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Strategy, Communication Sciences, Social Work and Policy, Sociology, African Studies, Anthropology and Human Resources Management.
ISCSP promotes scientific research through the Center for Administration and Public Policies, the Orient Institute, and the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies all accredited to the Foundation for Science and Technology - FCT, the Portuguese public financing agency for research in science, technology and innovation. International cooperation in education and research is a priority, especially in the countries of the Portuguese Speaking Community - CPLP, accomplishing ISCP's role as a Consulting Observer. Postgraduate students integrate research projects, with a focus on European projects, and those aimed at the Lusophone world in our geographic areas (Angola, São Tome and Principe, East Timor, Cape Verde and Brazil).
