Carbon Neutral Label

ICPP7 has received the Carbon Neutral label from a Thai governmental agency that supports reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in Thailand.

With the support of the UNISERV of Chiang Mai University, we are proud to announce that ICPP7 has received the Carbon Neutral Label from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization. This Thai governmental agency promotes and facilitates greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation efforts to combat climate change. TGO provides technical support, policy recommendations, and mechanisms to encourage carbon reduction in various sectors.

This certification accounts not only for the conference's carbon footprint (including energy use, conference materials, meals, and more) but also for the flights of the 1,300 expected participants for a total carbon cost estimated at around 2 500 tCO₂. With the involvement of TGO, carbon offsetting will contribute to supporting local environmental projects, including renewable energy, forestry compensation, water management, and more. Detailed information about the funded projects can be found on the TGO website, accessible here.

By financing carbon offsets through contributions to local environmental projects, IPPA is setting an example as one of the few international academic organizations actively committed to mitigating the carbon footprint of its events. This initiative highlights our dedication to encouraging sustainable practices within the global academic community.
