Available Roles: Editors & Associate Editors

Policy and Society is one of the highest-profile journals in Public Policy and Public Administration with a Clarivate

Impact Factor (2023) of 5.7 and a 5-year Impact Factor of 7.8, placing it at the very top of journals in these fields

internationally.

The journal is seeking a dynamic new team of Editors and Associate Editors to join the existing editors and help to

guide and grow the journal over the next decade.

Editors and Associate Editors will have recognised expertise in areas in which the journal has an established

reputation for high quality world-class articles and will have an extensive global network of contacts in areas

including:

• Policy Theories and Concepts

• Policy Analysis and Methods

• Policy Design and Process

• Comparative Public Policy

Editors are senior researchers with experience in journal management. Associate Editors may be of more junior rank

but normally will be of Associate Professor status or equivalent, with extensive editorial experience.

The duties of the Editors include:

• Developing the strategic direction for the journal and driving its growth;

• Soliciting high-quality articles and arranging and organizing special issues on key topics of interest to the

field;

• Expanding the reach and representation of the journal within the community of scholars working in the area;

• Ensuring efficient handling of manuscripts and providing final decisions on manuscripts;

• Maintaining high scientific and ethical standards in the peer-review process.

The duties of Associate Editors include:

• Overseeing articles through the peer review process to ensure timely publication, including identifying

potential peer reviewers and providing editorial recommendations;

• Ensuring high quality standards in peer review;

• Working with Editors on the organization and review of special issues;

• Soliciting new manuscripts and promoting the journal in conferences, workshops and other forums.
