The workshop aims to explore the extent to which the administrative state enhances citizen trust—both interpersonal trust and trust in public institutions and services—in contexts where multiple threats across geographical, functional, and organizational boundaries challenge societies globally. It also seeks to examine how the administrative state enhances trust, with whom it does so, and the factors that explain its role in this process.

Organized in a small, discussion-focused format with around 30 active participants, it will provide a collegial setting for deep engagement with the topic. The workshop will be held at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona on December 4-5, 2025.

No conference fee will be charged for workshop participation. Ground expenses (including meals during the conference as well as up to two nights of accommodation) will be covered for all paper givers and active participants.

Deadline to submit abstracts: June 15, 2025
Submit to: sogworkshop2025@upf.edu
